Church of the Holy Cross in Krakow (#10153)
The church is situated on the Holy Spirit Square, close to the building of the Słowacki Theater. Initially, a wooden church stood here, the present brick one dates back to the 14th century. The preserved building is an excellent example of the Gothic style with a square tower and naves with a separate roof. Inside the church, you can admire a palm vault supported by one massive pillar. This architectural solution is also a symbol of the biblical Tree of Life. The rectory building next to the church is the oldest inhabited building in Krakow at present.
