The senatorial tower (called Lubranka) is the highest of the preserved Wawel towers and is currently over 40 meters high. The upper floors of the tower were built of bricks, with windows placed in a way that allows for dividing residential and defensive functions, depending on needs. The walls of the tower were designed in a unique way, connected with curves and not, as in the case of most buildings, with right angles. The tower, extending beyond the outline of the castle walls, was a place for effective fire in three directions, which made it difficult to capture Wawel from the south.
